Membrane plants

Ultrafiltration
With the ultrafiltration technique it is possible to remove high molecular weight organic substances, particles in suspension, bacteria. The degree of membrane filtration can be comprised between 0.01 and 0.1 micron. They find wide application as separation technology. Thanks to the new generation membranes it is possible to make a continuous filtration directly in the bath of use.

Reverse osmosis
The reverse osmosis is the phenomenon that occur when a difference of pressure, contrary to the osmotic pressure and higher than it, is applied to the surface of a semipermeable membrane that separates two solutions with different concentration. In this way the solvent flow happens from the more concentrated solution to the more diluted solution.
