Alternative sources for renewable energy production
The produced biogas can be used and exploited in different ways: from the production of biomethane to cogeneration for the production of electrical and thermal energy, up to the simple production of heat.
Biomethane is natural and renewable methane gas, derived from the process of upgrading (purification) of biogas (mixture of methane and carbon dioxide) obtained from the exploitation of products and by-products of the agricultural and industrial supply chain. The obtained biomethane can be fed into the network like methane from fossil sources, it can be used in the form of CNG (Compressed Natural Gas) or LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) for the transport sector and from its purification you can also get Co2.
LIKE NATURAL GAS (METHANE FOSSIL) THE BIOMETHANE CAN:
Cogeneration is the process of simultaneous production of electrical and heat energy, it consists of an engine powered by biogas, coupling of synchronous alternator with electronic control system and automatic combustion control for emission control.
The heat can be used for buildings and / or production-industrial processes. The thermal energy produced in excess can be reused for the production of cold through absorption system, thus giving rise to the “trigeneration” as well as CCHP, Combined Cooling, Heating, and Power.
